My wife and I are highly considering moving from the Boston suburbs to NC, specifically Greensboro. (We have one young son under 3)
Our draws to Greensboro are:
Job availability (jobs in both of our fields are plentiful, Greensboro is a major hub in my line of work)
Cost of living
Family/community feel
Education
We have a very good friend who lived in Greensboro for 5 years and also did real-estate there so we have a pretty good idea of what it is like. He had stated it can feel boring at times for a city it’s size but it is very family friendly and sometimes feels like a massive suburb. Our reasons for leaving MA is that the cost of living is simply out of control, never mind the cost of housing. We are lucky enough to own our own house here, but with state politics here killing the middle class we are ready to jump ship to somewhere that aligns better with our way of thinking.
Just looking for any additional pros/cons, neighborhoods to consider, etc. thanks!
