Can chronic fissures turn into fistula or abcess? I don't know if I had recurring fissures or it was one chronic fissure always but I developed a tag some years ago. During this flare up the whole area swelled and there was a new swelling right behind the tag, it was extremely painful then it burst open and bled out, then the pain was over. Now I noticed a really small amount of leakage too. What is it?

I have an anal skin tag which seems more swelled, tender to touch and datk in color during recent flare up. Does that happen normally ?

Is it possible for an old chronic fissure to heal without surgery? I never took any medication because it always used to heal in it's own within a week. I never had any bleeding or intense pain after one week of the recurrence but now it won't just heal. I am scared that I never treated it properly and it has made things worse.
