compulsively checking old messages on my partners phone
i'm [19F] and i'm diagnosed ocd and i just cannot stop looking at my bfs [20M] old messages with his exes pictures and videos on his phone i literally just cannot stop and it makes me so upset but everynight i find myself doing it.
our relationship is good and healthy we've had some problems with lying on his part nearer the start of our relationship but it wasn't like completely serious and it's all good now i trust him i just think maybe that's the reason my stupid brain is making me compulsively check things.
i've spoken to him about deleting all his past messages and photos from relationships which he is more than happy to do and has started doing but he has a very busy and demanding job which i understand.
genuinely how can i stop this, i dont think its anything to do with trust it's my mental health and it's kind of making my mh worse doing this so both sides are not good and i just want to be a better girlfriend who doesn't compulsively go and check old things because i feel like if i am still doing it like 3 years in then he might not trust me or think im seriously invading his privacy. i just want to be a good gf
