Blindside TEMP K 6 Months from NYCHA
I find a listing online for a position with NYCHA they call and I get an interview then the job offer. I finished the process with HR and in the orientation packet. It says I’m appointed on a Temp k 6 month. I thought it was a provisional position because the listing and interview never said Temp rule 5.4.2. Has this happened to anyone else? What did you find out if you took the job? Do they always extend you past the six months to a full year then make your provisional or is this just a stop gap because someone went on leave and they need a short-term body? I know provisional is a temporary position also but you’re not working with a ax over your head with these 6 month contracts you’re waiting for the exam to come out.
