best gpu/cpu pairing for $1100 build, mostly 1440p gaming
First new build since 2018 and im stuck on how to split between cpu and gpu. Total budget is $1100 USD, can flex to $1200 if its actually worth it.
Mostly 1440p high refresh gaming. Competitive stuff like cs2 and valorant is fps capped on my end so im not chasing 500fps there. Single player is where i want the headroom. Cyberpunk, the new monster hunter, planning to do bg3, some UE5 stuff. Light blender on the side, nothing professional.
Already have a 1440p 165hz monitor, mouse, keyboard, headset. Reusing a 1tb nvme from the old build and a corsair rm750x thats about 4 years old, let me know if i should be replacing it. Just need the tower itself.
US, microcenter within driving distance.
Where im going back and forth is 7800x3d + 9070 xt vs dropping to a 9060 xt 16gb and putting the savings into the cpu side, or the other way with a cheaper am5 chip and the strongest gpu i can fit. The x3d premium feels right for the games i actually play but it eats a big chunk of the budget.
am i overthinking the cpu side here
