Looking at purchasing some Women's versions of New Balance shoes but not sure what size to get. Most brands have a 1.5 size difference between men and women's (10 = 11.5). I understand the width will be different, but I'm mainly talking about just the length.

According to the chart a women's US 11.5 is:

  • 28.5cm which is 0.5cm larger than a men's US 10 (28cm).
  • 43.5 EU which is 0.5 sizes smaller than a men's US 10 (44 EU)

How can it be both simultaneously be larger and smaller?

If I were to go based on US, I would purchase a size 11.5 Wide.

If I were to go based on CM, I would purchase a size 11 Wide.

If I were to go based on EU, I would purchase a size 12 Wide.

Anyone have experience buying both Women and Men's NB shoes.
