Hi all, I love this feature hedge in my new garden but the bed it’s in currently has decorative slate mulch, so when I shape it bits get everywhere and I’m picking them all up individually which is a little tedious

My question is: would it be a better to replace with bark mulch and just blend it in or is it a better idea to not leave all the bits on the ground?

This was here when moved in, fully bare a couple of months ago and just started growing leaves from the old wood

I don’t know much about trees but this one looks like it could grow rather large and seems to be destroying the bush underneath it!
