High volume knee revision surgeon in NOVA recommendation

I’m looking for recommendations for a high-volume knee revision surgeon in Northern Virginia (NOVA), preferably someone experienced with complex painful TKA cases, stiffness/limited ROM, possible implant malposition, stress reaction around the tibial component, and evaluation of metal hypersensitivity vs mechanical failure.

If anyone has personal experience with revision TKA specialists in the NOVA area, I’d truly appreciate recommendations — especially surgeons who are thorough with workups (CT alignment studies, aspiration, loosening evaluation, metal allergy considerations, etc.) rather than dismissing symptoms as “normal.”

I’ve been looking into the joint replacement programs at Inova Joint Replacement Center and Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who had a difficult/painful TKA case and finally found answers with a revision specialist.

Right TKA ongoing pain (22 months) + nickel allergy – anyone similar?

I had a right TKA (08/14/2024). I have persistent medial & lateral knee pain, plus shin, calf, foot, and ankle pain, with limited ROM (~95°). Pain occurs with most movement.

Recent MRI: stress reaction around tibial component and small joint effusion (same as last year).

I also have a known nickel allergy (positive patch test 03/2021). I recently learned my implant includes cobalt-chromium, despite my allergy history.

I’m trying to understand if this is more likely metal allergy vs mechanical issues (scar tissue, alignment, overload).

Has anyone had similar symptoms?
What helped or resolved it?
