Sores and white patches on tongue and lips
Hi everyone!
I’m having trouble with sores on my lateral tongue, “rope-like” white tissue on my lower lip and extreme dryness of my mouth.
Some background:
I’m 49 years old
Before this started I had a period with very bad dental hygiene
I take several medications that can cause dryness but I have had those for years and haven’t had problems with dryness before
I don’t drink or smoke
In January I suddenly experienced a lot of pain in my mouth. I developed sores on my lateral tongue and my mouth was extremely dry. I basically just woke up with this one day.
It didn’t pass, and in the evenings I’d have trouble eating and talking.
My dentist cleaned my teeth, I got a mouthguard I’ve been using daily and I’ve used antibacterial toothpaste. Things got a bit better, I can eat and talk, but I’m still in pain.
This has been going on for months now and it’s just not going away. I’m getting new sores, my mouth is painfully dry and I have white ropes at the sides of my mouth and on my lower lips that swell up and hurt. I also have white areas in my cheeks.
Would be thankful for any help!
