I’m a 15-year-old Full-Stack Dev from Egypt planning on getting ready for the MEXT KOSEN intake. I’m aiming for a high-tier R&D or Systems Architecture role at a company like Sony/Nintendo.
For those who have finished the KOSEN path (especially Information Engineering), I have a few specific questions:

  1. Most KOSENs are regional. Did the quiet countryside help your technical focus, or did it feel isolating?
  2. Does the curriculum let you touch low-level systems and hardware logic, or is it mostly standard IT?
  3. How supportive is MEXT and the KOSEN staff regarding transferring to a top-tier University (Tokodai, Todai) for years 4 and 5?
  4. I hear KOSEN grads get 20+ job offers easily, but for lower-tier roles. If I want a high-tier R&D job at Sony, is transferring to a University absolutely mandatory? Do companies value the "KOSEN + Uni" combo more than a standard Uni grad?

Any advice for a 15 year old optimizing the next 24 months of preparation would be huge. Thanks!
