The work has begun.

The work has begun.

It kinda already has begun, and I'm just sharing the news now, anyway.
I'm building a movement engine (I think it maybe counts as one) that (hopefully) combines Super Metroid Project Base (0.8+) and Metroid Dread. My goal is to get the cool momentum and action chaining stuff from the former while also adding the quick responsiveness of the latter.

I’m currently working on tuning the momentum loss rate and coding the wall jump and wall kick, and I’ll have a video showing it off soon, along with more details.

For those who have played both, what are the absolute must-have elements of both games' movement systems to get the feel right?

I remade the Metroid Fusion sprite for my love of the Metroid games and to improve my skills. I tried to stay as faithful to the artwork and in-game art as possible, while leaving myself room to make my own take on the Fusion suit. Frankly, I think I did pretty well. BTW, what do y'all think of it?
