Used my authority to cater the party to the gluten free vegans 😈😈😈

Used my authority to cater the party to the gluten free vegans 😈😈😈

Picture: Gluten free, vegan Oreo brownies from a gluten free bakery 🧁 for the monthly office birthday party I instated.

I have spent my entire at all life managing a restricted diet. Not because I’ve been eating disorder, but because I have a health condition. And it’s always been a pain in the butt. Everyone always gets conventional food, and then one side option for me. They get a giant sheet cake and a pre made cup of chocolate mousse for me. I always get a lil 🤨 that they can’t just pick something I can eat that everyone can eat with me. I don’t like feeling excluded or different.

So now that I’m in charge, all the food is gluten-free and vegan. ✊✊ It and I’m not even announcing i got the GF V brownies > regular specifically for certain staff. Not going to explain why there isn’t pizza. I’ll let the staff know they can ask if they have dietary concerns about anything and check with every staff attending. 😈

EDIT: I made a broad statement with the chocolate mousse. The only time this company is ever catered to me is that the yearly company event happens at a fancy hotel. And I wouldn’t give the company credit for that because the hotel is famous for making these accommodations. The company and staff itself have never catered to me a company birthday parties happen in the office. I’m grain free, so it’s almost impossible. Not until I got promoted into this position. Am I in charge of these events.

I CAN’T EVEN EAT THESE BROWNIES. I’M GRAIN FREE. DON’T WORRY, I’M NOT FORCING OTHERS TO CATER TO ME SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE I CAN’T EVEN EAT THESE MF BROWNIES. IM 100% BEING SELFLESS ONLY SHOWING CONSIDERATION TO THE CELIAC AND OTHER AUTOIMMUNE STAFF.

I don’t know why so many people are upset about gluten-free food. It’s a charcuterie board with cheese and brownies with dairy ice cream.

How to get a peer to stop talking down to me because I’m not a parent?

I work for a government contracting company in a machismo state where have the population is 1/2 progressive, queer friendly, define your family culture and 1/3 traditional family culture a hint of Mormonism.

IYKYK.

I’m the only person in the entire state at the company who’s a child free woman. It’s not necessarily because I don’t like children. I just had a different life experience than these people.

I’m older than Susan, 35, by 3 years. Susan, who is born and raised in the richest city nearby, got married two years ago and has had two kids within those two years with her high paying nerd husband. I get the impression she’s stressed tf out by being a mother. So she keeps making comments about how different her life is as a mother than mine and I don’t appreciate.

Although I can’t understand motherhood, she can’t understand being disabled and homeless with no one to call. I’ve simply had a different life than her and she has no clue.

She keeps making statements I don’t appreciate. She said that I’m not tired like her because I’m not a parent. (I take great issue here as someone with an endocrine disorder). She says I can stay up later than her because I’m younger, then corrected herself and said because I don’t have kids. She just told me that she also never took driving safe seriously until she became a parent, implying that that’s why I don’t drive slow.

Relatable. I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to ask my manager to do anything about it. At the company it’s me vs men vs mother so not a lot of sympathy is given to me by those who cant relate. I’m on great terms with my manager, but Susan has been a pain point for other things (v pushy/bossy and broken rules) and I don’t want to seem like I’m not learning how to work with difficult people.

If you have $25 to spend on TB for dinner, just buy from your locally owned small biz Mexican restaurant 🙏

I got Taco Bell pretty often but I get a drink or a side and maybe both. My order is never over $10. I cook at home a lot and TB is my ‘not night’ option.

Just watched someone check out order price come on screen and they’re ordering $25 worth of Taco Bell. I don’t see anyone else in the non-family looking, out of state car so I assume it’s 1 person ordering dinner. Must be a quesadilla or two. (Joke)

I get that prices are high, but most people can still get an entrée with the side of bean and rice at a Mexican restaurant for $16-18 with bigger portions. I can understand if you’re far from the border in Vermont or autistic and have certain safe foods. But giving your money to local owners brings a better outcome to you than giving it to investment banks and Wall Street.

If you order food for pick up, you don’t have to tip for delivery. Socially reserved people can ask for no take pick up in order notes.

TB is the shitty version of real Mexican food. Now that the prices are high on popular items, it’s time to go back to authentic.

Help me pick my non-aggressive bumper sticker

The ‘I hate your led headlights’ are fun but I can’t driving around claiming hate. So I picked a few options that are more polite.

Which do we like best?

Who else feels too old to drive at night because of headlight ocular terrorism??

Yes, I’m using dramatic wording. But I legitimately feel too old to drive at night and I’m 38. The headlights are so damn bright. I bought the special glasses that help with night driving but I recently started wearing my prescription sunglasses at night. That’s the only way I can drive without feeling like my eyes are being stabbed by a light dragger. I just realized that could get me a ticket or be a problem if I got in an accident. So maybe I’m already too old to drive at night?

I’ve gotten greenies the last three times I’ve done my nails. That’s because the product application. So it’s the techs fault, and not user.

None of the nail subreddits will let me post. None of the r/beauty sub breads will let me post. The beauty sub told me to ask the r/askadoctor. The doctor said Reddit told me it’s not a doctor issue. r/nailart, r/nailtech, r/redditlaqueristas won’t let me post. None!

It’s more of a social question asking if I should still go to a service provider even though I’m not satisfied with the service. And I’m trying to find out if getting a greeny is common. If it’s not unusual to see one at every appointment. It’s a different nail every time. So the audience needs to be people educated on nail care and nail art.

Hi! I work from one of the government contractors and I see a lot of the same job titles that are hiring now and will be hiring in the future. Messed up my title. This is within the Los Alamos LANL General industry. So that includes contracting companies like Mele Associates, etc

They won’t just be hiring at my government contractor, but any of the government contractors or directly at the lab. So you don’t need to message me to apply. Just look on indeed and LinkedIn.

But message me if you want. 🙂

Sometimes the contractors and lab will post jobs when they already have a candidate in mind. So when qualified candidates apply, they never get a response. But these are the job titles that will respond when you apply:

Radiological control technicians. Ideal candidates have an RCT cert. it costs $5k. Cost can be converted by the NM opportunity scholarship.

Nuclear waste techs, coordinators, etc.

Construction project managers in superintendent with industrial or chemical industry experience. The hours might suck with weekends, but the need is high so salary will be good.

HVAC professionals with lab (as in HVAC for labs, not a national laboratory) experience.

Experienced work control planners with good tenure. (Aka no job hopping, stays at each job for years).

Operations support with good tenure.

The lab is not hiring many:

Early career R&D engineers.

Early and mid experience program managers.
