Screwed up
Screwed up on this air exchanger, I used my impact with a socket on it and torqued this bolt down to tight and stripped it including the nut on the inside of the cage. I put a new nut and bolt on it but I wasn’t able to get the nut on the inside of the cage so it’s not really holding the bracket in place. Now the belts keep getting loose and squealing, I haven’t told my boss about it but when we went back to do spring cleaning he got pissed at me because we had to replace the belts again on it, I almost lost my job. He was able to get it to stop making noise but I drove by it again today and it’s back to squealing again. It’s stressing me out super bad I like this type of work but I just don’t think I’m cut out for it. Any advice and words of encouragement is much appreciated.
