Hello everyone. I started running the Strange Aeons campaign as a GM, and I quickly ran into its difficulties. In the end, I came up with solutions that try to take all six modules into account in terms of story, NPCs, and events. Based on the “backstory,” I think there will be plenty of opportunities for roleplaying throughout the campaign. I also found an answer to why the characters would pursue Lowls and why the players would engage with the story.
There are four of us who have been playing RPGs together for nearly 40 years, so I only had to come up with personal storylines for three players, which made the task a bit easier. We’ll be starting the campaign with a paladin, a bard, and an investigator. I really enjoyed the prep work as well (as you can see from my rather lengthy—perhaps overly wordy—write-up).
If you have the interest, energy (!) and perseverance (!!) to dive into it as a bit of light reading, go for it—maybe you’ll find some inspiration in it for future GMs. And of course, I’m happy to receive any constructive criticism about where things could be improved, especially from those who have already played through the campaign and have their own experiences!
If anyone is interested in my corruption tables, I’d be happy to share those as well.
