The ongoing disrespect towards Mike will not be tolerated. I’ve seen a lot of walk em down wheelers content on social medias whereas there are some comments and a few posts only praising on the wheeler women when there’s Mike too. I mean hello…he has walked em down like literally multiple times even more than Karen and Holly did throughout the seasons. Both Karen and Holly fought like only twice in one season meanwhile Mike has been risking his life and fighting his ass off way longer than they did. Also, it’s not like Nancy did anything much either until the last episodes. The fact that people have the nerve to say that Mike is useless and did “nothing” is extremely disturbing and unfair, especially with the aspect that he’s a main character and has been through the hellish experience since day 1. I just feel like it’s absurd to root a side character or a character who was literally nothing before now over an OG main character. Also, he did a lot of things (great things btw) in this last season. Anybody said that he didn’t seriously have severe amnesia.

My favourite season personally is season 2. I honestly don’t understand why it’s so underrated. I understand the lost sister episode was bad but that shouldn’t take away the fact that season 2 was amazing.
Reasons season 2 is my favourite:
- it had the least drama between characters
- Nancy and Jonathan continuing their mission together and finally became a couple.
- El and Hopper building a bond
- Steve and Dustin forming a friendship
- The beginning of Lumax
- Mileven reunion after a long time
- Steve the babysitter era
- it is one of the only seasons where everyone has a part in the final plan
- it is the only season where everyone got their happy ending
- all characters were still treated fairly by both the writers and the fandom
Whoever said Mike is useless or that he did “nothing” in season 5 seriously has severe amnesia. He definitely did a lot of things this season (great things btw). Sure he may have took a step back in volume 2, but that doesn’t change the fact that he risked his life and fought his ass off in volume 1 and the finale. Please say “never mess with Mike Wheeler” if you guys get it. Thank you!
Whomever who said Mike DGAF about his family are DEAD WRONG. You guys, just because he didn't really show much emotions doesn't mean that he didn't care. DO NOT JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER! I mean, everyone's life was at high stakes at the moment, and sometimes there's just not much time to crash out. So he probably just needed to repress his emotions, focus on the plan, and solve the problem. “AFTER ALL THIS TIME IT COMES FOR HOLLY, HOLLY WHO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS, IT MAKES NO GODDAMN SENSE.” He was clearly upset about his sister going missing. Let’s take a closer look of these face expressions. If you guys pay a little more attention, then you can definitely see a bit guilt and fear in his eyes.
Those who said, “Mike hasn’t been the leader since season 3” really need to watch this. They are DEAD WRONG. Please only spread positivity, no hates allowed! Thank you!
Mike in Season 5 wasn’t “ruined.” Ppl just forgot Volume 1.
The Duffers said Mike would return to being the leader/heart of the group like in Seasons 1–2 and in Volume 1, he absolutely did.
He:
• Planned the crawls
• Investigated “Mr. Whatsit” with Nancy
• Came up with the Turnbow trap
• Fought the demogorgon at the Turnbow house
• Risked his life protecting kids he barely even knew at the Mac-Z
That’s leadership. That’s Season 1 Mike energy.
Volume 2 felt quieter for him, sure. But look at the situation:
The plan failed.
The kids were taken.
Will went unconscious.
They lost contact with others from the Upside Down.
They weren’t executing plans anymore they were scrambling to survive. That doesn’t make him useless.
And let’s stop pretending he “didn’t care” about Holly. Just because he wasn’t screaming doesn’t mean he wasn’t terrified. That line “after all this time it comes for Holly… it makes no sense” you can SEE the guilt and fear.
Not everyone reacts loudly. Sometimes you shut down to function.
And in the finale? He still fought. He still believed El was alive. He still anchored the epilogue. The POV framing mattered.
Was he as flashy as other characters? No.
Was he irrelevant? Also no.
Mike is still the strategist. Still the heart. Just operating in a different kind of chaos.
You don’t have to love the writing but saying his character was destroyed feels unfair.
Ppl really need to stop being so negative all the time. Thx!

This doesn’t get talked about enough. He is still the same warm hearted boy who would do anything for his loved ones. Those who don’t see that are just out of their goddamn mind.

Ppl really need to start looking more on the bright side!
From season 1 to season 5, this trait remains the same.
