I wanted to share that my husband (US Citizen) and I (from the 19 countries) filed our application in October 2025, had our interview scheduled for mid December and it got cancelled the day after the memo came out.
About a month ago our interview was rescheduled. We just had the interview this week and it went well, it lasted about 10-15 minutes. Very basic questions about how we met, how long until we made it official, our wedding, trips, etc. At the end of the interview the officer seemed to have forgotten where I was born because he said background check would take about 2 weeks and I should receive my GC in the mail in a month. Then he looked at a paper and realized where I was born and apologized for “getting my hopes up” and said he couldn’t approve us because of the pause until they had better/other instructions. The officer was very apologetic and nice about it. I have dual citizenship so I figured I asked about any possible way around the pause but he said it wasn’t possible to get around it.
Also we our I-130 was approved today!
