Hi everyone,

I need some honest advice regarding my career choice.

I’m currently deciding between MBBS and BDS, and I feel really confused. My main goal is to start earning as soon as possible and have a stable income. I’m kind of interested in opening my own clinic in the future if I have the money.

From what I understand:

MBBS has a longer pathway (house job, specialization, etc.), but it may offer better job opportunities and salary.

BDS seems shorter, which is why I started considering it, even though I’ve never really thought about dentistry before.

However, I recently found out that even in BDS, you often need specialization to earn well, and there are still many exams involved in both fields.

Also, I’m an overseas Pakistani, so I’ll most likely be applying on international seats, not government merit.

So I wanted to ask:

Which field is more practical if I want to start earning earlier?

Is BDS actually a good option if I’m not passionate about dentistry? Im not passionate cuz I literally dont know anything about it and some people told me its not really for girls ( which im sure is wrong)

Does MBBS really offer better financial stability in the long run without needing private practice?

What would you recommend in my situation?

I would really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who are currently studying or working in these fields cuz i dont wanna waste so much of my dads money on a degree that wont allow me to pay him back. Also I kind of need to be financially stable due to some family issues( not financial issues).

Thank you!
