AITA for ruining what once was a great friendship?

I (49M) met a woman (31F) in September and we really clicked over shared hobbies, music, gaming, etc. We became close friends, texting and calling daily. After a couple months I developed romantic feelings and was upfront about it. She said hers don't develop that quickly, so I told her I was fine taking it slow and that I'd rather stay friends than lose her.

We hung out, went to dinner a few times, and exchanged small gifts (gifting is one of my love languages, which I told her). About 1.5 months ago she wanted to change jobs. I introduced her to some people and they gave her a job. A week before she started, I gave her flowers and a poem expressing my feelings (I had told her about the poem beforehand). The next day she told me she didn't feel as strongly. I said I understood and would put my feelings aside to preserve the friendship.

Since her new job is across the road from mine and our work overlaps, I would stop by her office trailer a couple times a week for quick chat or job-related stuff. She eventually asked me to stop popping in so much because coworkers were giving her crap about it, poking fun at her and it was pissing her off. I agreed and tried to limit it to only when necessary for work and would only talk about outside work stuff if she engaged first. She later reminded me again about boundaries.

Last week there was a project she was assigned to that needed review. I asked another PM to go over it with me on site. While there I asked whose project it was (I already knew) and he said hers. He mentioned she might give him an earful if not called over because she was very direct, then started talking negatively about her. I asked once if he should call her then and he said no. Later she heard (apparently from him) that I was "begging" to have her called to the site. I asked the other inspector that was with me and he backed me up that I only asked once after he started talking negatively. She is now not speaking to me and the friendship seems over.

AITA for overstepping boundaries?
