Am I (32F) overthinking UberEats note from my SIL (30F)
It was my husband’s (34M) birthday and we are based outside India. It’s been roughly a year to our wedding. His sister 30 F (unmarried) sent him some food for lunch as a birthday present while I was away at work. I found the invoice later on when tidying the house and she had left a message for the restaurant saying
"Its my brother's birthday today. He has no family there. We want to make sure he feels special with food. Sending it from india. Please make it with lots of care and love"
The second sentence felt disrespectful to me so I showed it to my husband who simply laughed it off and said she was probably wishing the restaurant put extra effort or throw in something free. He also casually said, while laughing that if it’s bothering me it’s something I should say to her directly.
I’m not sure how to handle this. Of course I didn’t like the message and it felt dispresctful to me but now I’m hurt at her as well as my husband who clearly doesn’t see this as disrespect.
Am I thinking too much into this? What would you make of it?
Also, is it even worth bringing it up if it’s clear she doesn’t even view me as family?
