I just got a set of the forged 201 irons delivered today. Going to the range Friday.

I know their return policy demands that all clubs aside from the 7 iron must be wrapped with head covers and all in order to be eligible for returns. I don't intend to return the clubs, but I'm a little worried that it's this strict.

Do you think I should only unwrap the 7 iron beforehand just in case? I was planning to unwrap all clubs mainly just to clean the grips to get the manufacturer's thin film of protective oil off, as the grips come a little slick initially.

I feel like I'm overthinking it but on the off chance I hate them I'm worried about wasting the return opportunity.

After weeks of research into different DTC brands, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered some of the original forged 201 irons. Looking forward to having some shiny new irons that aren't as old as I am (literally, my current irons and I are both 23). Hopefully the order goes through, says they're still in stock for the time being even though I've heard that orders for the heads only have bounced back for people.

I will say one thing I wish takomo had is a demo program, like what Sub70 does. I actually ordered a Sub70 club similar to the takomo 201s (Ordered a TAIII V2 CB with a 130g Dynamic Gold S300 shaft) to test out, and absolutely loved the forged feel vs my very old, oversized + cast ping G2s. I'm a 16 handicap and dropping relatively quick, I think the 201s with the KBS 120g stiff shafts will be a great fit for now and to grow into, and I think the forged feedback will be huge in developing some more consistency.

For anyone looking to do a "fitting" to takomo clubs, I recommend looking at demo programs like this with other DTC brands. I wish takomo did their own. Cost me $20 to test out a brand new 9 iron and 6 iron through Sub70. So happy I did, gave me the confidence to order.

I dont say that to promote another brand on this sub, at the end of the day I ordered Takomo over sub70 or maltby (mainly due to price and looks, tbh) , but I do think they'd gain a non-negligible amount of additional orders if they let people order a demo set of a few clubs. Some people don't want to spend $600+ on clubs that they have no concept of feel for, and regular fittings aren't cheap.
