Payment or merchant solution for Lead Generation?

UK - About to start a simple venture, fictional example: Builder pays me 200-300 via website, I promote their business to my newsletter and place their ad/logo on the website/forum, Any enquiries/leads are sent to the builder/member/dashboard. All parties agreed and happy.

Stripe horror stories about closing accounts at the worst moment and keeping all funds. Guess I'm "high-risk" because digital/intangible. I need reliability.

Are there any solutions to card payments or popular processors that will accept "lead generation"?

Payment processor - merchant account for digital marketing?

About to start a simple venture, fictional example: Builder pays me 200 via website to promote their business to my newsletter and place their ad/logo on the website/forum, Any enquiries/leads are sent to the builder/member/dashboard. All parties agreed and happy.

If Stripe doesn't like this, fair enough, but I noticed a few horror stories about Stripe closing or freezing accounts at the worst moment for some lead-gen digital marketing as it's "intangible". I need reliability.

Are there any solutions to card payments or popular processors that will accept "lead generation"?

Fairly good with HTML CSS and simple PHP/JS. I want a user to buy a product via Stripe button and upon successful payment have them onboarded and sent into the members area using their email and a temp password (also sent to them via SMTP?). Bonus ability to change/update their own contact information.

Looking for recommendations for a script/library/CMS as light and secure as possible please. Thanks

I'm looking to host a blog/members forum with some videos uploaded. A few product/payments pages. and SMTP/Google email for weekly newsletter.

  • No shared hosting!
  • Don't need a bloated webstore
  • Monthly budget below £30
  • UK data centres
  • Now familiar with Linux admin
  • Monthly visitors ~2000

Most importantly, I don't want to be limited by CPU usage. It's fine being capped to a single core or slow speed, or even warned to upgrade with fair clear pricing, but can't be throttled for using a hidden figure like "40%" of the CPU for 180 mins and potentially losing a customer or new member.

Looking at Cloud, VPS (VDS?), and trying to get the best for my needs. I don't need a managed solution.

Any recommendations or specific terms I need to look for is appreciated. Thanks

Need a small webstore to sell a few custom prints but want to avoid shared hosting. Looking at Fasthosts VPS. I'm fairly technical but never managed a Linux server (firewall, OS+updates, monitoring etc). Assuming this is done via command lines unless there's a graphical/easier way or list of do's/don'ts?

Is it that hard to manage securely? If so I'll look at cloud hosting or stick with shared but open to all suggestions.

Fasthosts reputation isn't the best but the cheap VPS price will do for now. Hopefully not many hidden fees..
