Saint Urban - are they an under radar gem? Or too niche?
Michelin level service, very well executed French cooking (although not super innovative), amazing and thoughtful wine pairing with lesser known producers. Menu and pairing change every month to highlight a new region which is super cool. 7 courses with pairing under 1k for 2 which is not bad for this level of food and wine (yes I know that sounds absurd but this is where we are now in NYC).
But they had some empty tables on a Fri night. Did I catch them on a particularly good night or are they flying under the radar? Menu maybe too classic? Too niche now that people don’t drink as much?
