2022 Specialized Tarmac SL6 Sport new for 1500€; worth it?

Hi, I’m a relatively new rider looking for more experienced opinions. I’ve had a Canyon Grizl 5 gravel bike for about a year, and I’m now wanting to also get a road bike to diversify my riding. The Grizl is very entry-level (aluminum frame, Shimano Cues groupset, not very light, etc…), so I would like the road bike to be a little higher spec’ed, while still being on a budget. For instance, I’d like to try out a carbon frame, lighter bike, and a better groupset with more gears (during descents and some flats, on the Grizl, I am often unable to pedal due to lack of range on the Cues).

My LBS is a Specialized dealer, and they have a new Specialized Tarmac SL6 Sport from 2022 on discount for 1500€. It’s stock, with carbon frame, Shimano 105 mechanical, hydraulic disc brakes, etc… To me, it seems like a good deal, given that it’s about 50% discounted from its original price, and fits my budget and wants. But I’d like to hear the opinion of more experienced riders.

I know that the used market is probably a better option, but I’ve only been riding for about a year and I am not at all confident that I would be able to spot issues in a second-hand bike before buying.

Thanks for your help!
