Hey!
I'm an 18yo musician and music production university student. I'm working on my first original music project, but it's been a bit hard to keep it moving forward, mainly because of my anxiety.
I'm at all times very afraid of pressuring my friends, feeling too attached, all of that. This means that, even if I talked with a couple of people (a singer and a pianist) to play with me in this project, I keep trying to make sure they're ok with it, that they don't feel like I'm asking too much from them, etc.
However, at the same time, I get anxious when I see that the project is not moving forward. The singer has been incredibly busy, for totally valid reasons, so it's not been easy to book sessions with them. We're supposed to have a session soon, where maybe we can record vocals for the first two songs, but after that I'm feeling like there's going to be a dip again.
They said, since it's summer, it might be a lot harder to book sessions since plans aren't all that predictable.
Is it normal for a project to have this moments where one member is more available, and then less?
Can it still work if we record the first two songs this month, and then only record vocals again in September or October?
If I was sure that at the end of the year we would actually record it, there would be no problem whatsoever for me, but what's bugging me is that, since it's been uncertain until now, I'm projecting that same dynamic going forward...
Hope this makes sense and some of you might have experienced similar stuff.
Thanks!
