So my book takes place in a fantastic world where people live differently and therefore have different culture, habits and customs.

In the most recent chapter, for example, the MC visits a town. I want to add a scene where he witnesses a funeral, needless to say it has nothing to do with the real life funerals. That won't add anything to the plot, the funeral will not be relevant at any point in the story (as far as I've planned), but that is one of the many examples. I want to add a few paragraphs or pages not too frequently but every 5 to 10 chapters.

How would you feel about it as a reader?

I (m30) grew up in an abusive household. My mom and dad always argued and took their hatred on me even after they divorced. My mom did all the wrong decisions about my education and didn’t allow me to study what i wanted and never bothered talking it through. I also experienced countless public humiliations because she has anger control issues and never took responsibility for her own actions and instead blamed me for her actions

I had a rough, depressive and lonely childhood with dozens of mental and social struggles. My parents didnt beat me but my older brother did. They didn’t do anything about it.

Eventually i left them and started building my own life around a decade ago. I went full no contact with everyone but i talk to my mom occasionally. We are still distant and I don’t feel anything family related with her. I don’t hate her but i still hold grudge of the past and things are irreparable at this point. The only reason i give her this chance of contact to me is because she is the only one in the family to openly admit she was in the wrong in all the ways she raised me. My dad doesn’t accept he did anything wrong and my brother doesn’t take responsibility and instead blame it on the others.

I don’t call or text her on any special occasions for years and she celebrates my birthday every year but always on the wrong dates. I never corrected her because I don’t really care. Aitah?

I left the family subscription and started my individual payment but in the process all my library and playlists are gone.
