Is it normal for your psychologist to create excuses for every issue you have that has a clear link to ADHD?

I’m in the process of getting a diagnosis and where I’m from you have to go to a psychologist before being referred to a psychiatrist for an actual diagnosis and treatment.

I feel like the psychologist I have just creates excuses for every issue I face. It’s not like I’m completely unsure of having ADHD either, both my Father and older brother have it and it’s fairly common among other family members. I’ve spoken to my brother on multiple occasions about his and related to a lot of the pre-medication issue he faced.

Everything I bring up that i struggle with he seems to have some excuse for it. “Young people grew up on the internet and have never had the opportunity to turn it off that can be why you struggle socialising/talking to other people so much” as an example, even in that instance he was grouping me in with everyone as a whole when I feel like I’m levels behind on others in that and so many other factors. I hardly even relate to his excuses either and it’s so annoying. Anyone else have a similar experience, it feels like he dismisses every problem I have.

Edit: I just realised that it may seem as if I’m trying to self diagnose. I’m not I haven’t just listened to my brother, I’ve gone out and done my own research. My point is he seems so dismissive and these excuses and reasons says I don’t relate to at all.

Currently in my last year of high school and I’m looking to get involved and contribute in a Socialist movement although I would preferably like to interact and be involved with people that are of similar age to me. I’ve seen groups such as highschool anti-capitalists online although as far as I’m aware they are based in Sydney and have no groups elsewhere. I’d appreciate any recommendations, thanks in advance.

Is there any way to do this without syncing the audio while editing? I don’t really want to use an audio cue to sync them at the risk of it being slightly off time and having the video look off visually.
