Soundproofing condo floor

I'm looking for an effective soundproofing solution for my condo. Purpose mostly is to prevent as much noise, talking, music, bass, etc from the unit below. Additionally, minimizing noise and impact from me going down is good too.

Roughly 800 sq ft and mostly carpet with tile in bathroom and kitchen. Carpet is getting replaced in any case so using this as an opportunity. Considering also replacing tiling too as they've aged and cracked.

One solution, at least under the new carpet is to have a layer of mass loaded vinyl (mlv) then an acoustic carpet pad of some sort. I'm not sure if this is effective, overkill, or if there are better solutions.

Noise has been a large, non-trivial problem from below for years and it's not all on the neighbors, some of it is just the building. I love where I live and want to do what I can.

Thanks for reading, welcome to thoughts, feedback and is there something else I should consider?
