Unsure what to do.
Hi all, im looking for legal advice in regards to an assault that happened on a licensed premises by both owners, immediately i know how it sounds.
I was in a pub during operating ours, and a lock in was happening.
The bar had about 20 to 30 publicans on site including both owners.
I was speaking with one of the owners about closing. The owner was saying that he was ready for bed and to go home. When I was speaking with him I said, " youre the boss, tell them to drink up and head home" he responds with "aww fuck them, what am i to do".
The conversation was back and forth. During this time the other owners was coming over arguing about music "I'm listening to music". Was the statement.
He continued to leave and re-enter the conversation to and from where the music was being played and to where we were situated, off the main bar area.
As he was rejoining the conversation, he insulted me by mentioning my partner was not good enough for me and stated that I threatened them six times. At which point I tried to defend myself, refuting the statement and asking when I had threatened them.
The initial owner tried to speak and was shushed by the other owner. With the back and forth conversation, in my opinion, escalated and completely switched.
The first of the owners who I was speaking with shoved me of the chair tossing the end of my drink across me. When I stood up asking whats that for the 2nd owner grabbed me by the hood, chocking me bringing me to the door, where I opened it myself, he made a final statement that he would leave me in a wheelchair.
I believe the switch up happend when I wasn't lowering myself to there level. I made a call the the local garda station and was directed to the next available garda station. I gave my name and number and said that I'd like this on record but I was too rattled to go in and make a statement. Im afraid that they'll delete the footage in the mean time.
What am I to do?
