My (M17) girlfriend (F18) enjoys vaping at parties and it makes me feel wierd, it this ok?
My Girlfriend and I often end up going to parties together which involves drinking which I’m fine with I am happy and not against that. However usually at there parties there at least someone who has a vape. Then her friends will usually get to it at some point and she vapes with them.
I play an wind instrument and am highly against vaping and smoking (so all sorts of things which will damage my lungs)
So whenever they start vaping I usually end up drifting away to hang out with others because I don’t like it and don’t want to be in that group with the vaping around.
Now the issue is that whenever I do this she always get sad because she feels that I dislike that she’s doing it and because it’s usually when she is drunk she also feels like I am disgusted by her. But I really just don’t like being around the vaping.
Then whenever we talk about it she says she feels gross because of how she knows I don’t like it, and she doesn’t want to feel that way because she is adamant that she doesn’t want to change herself for me but still wants to enjoy vaping with others. But I also don’t know what to do because I also don’t want to compromise on my values about being around vaping. This always makes me feel like a bad person.
I have already said most of this to her, but as she’s continues to vape again and again and every time I just feel really uncomfortable when I see them doing it.
I also know that her friends and her also enjoy weed occasionally (they haven’t done it while we’ve dated) and I have said I don’t care but am worried I will feel the same way when they do because they have started trying to find a time to do it next.
