My experience coming back to League of Legends Rank

Hello, this year I thought of playing ranked again and check out the new changes. And I guess what brought me back is my friend asking to duo again, so with that, I thought I'd start climbing again and note down what I realized during this time. I'll explain from my lowest-ranked account, bronze 4, all the way to diamond 4, where I have noticed some problems with the system.

I have 3 accounts: 2 that are relatively new or have not been used for rank and the last one that is used for my duo.

Bronze IV to Gold II

From Bronze IV to Gold II, I autofill unless I want to test out Sylas jungle or top Vayne. I don't drop that many kills nor is my cs numbers that great. I currently have the fast-climbing icon with an impressive 52% winrate on this account, although most games I play like 6pek.

  1. Have Fast Climbing Icon at 52% w/r
  2. not that great of a player
  3. occasionally drop 30 kills if I play main role. or 30 deaths as ad Sion.

Gold IV to emerald IV

Around gold III or gold II, my duo and I were being placed into lobbies that are platinum II+ and then emerald II+. This was the common problem that we were facing, which was odd to me. Playing against opponents that are 2 tiers higher is just a massive stomp. ( gold I players going against 4 emerald IV+ players and an occasional platinum player added).

  1. Rank inflation = bad

Emerald IV to Diamond IV

For some odd reason, getting to diamond IV this season was relatively easy. I started out playing Singed support, going to Ekko mid, and trying out other champions that I've tested in my lower-ranked account. All champions that I have played currently sit at a 60%+ winrate across the board.

As of right now, I am sitting at 59% winrate, Diamond IV 75 LP.

This is where I started to question the rank system.

  1. Why is it that on my lower ranked account, I still have the Fast Climbing icon even though I have much worst stats than my diamond IV account? (When I reached Diamond, I had a 63% w/r, winning streak. occasional loss here and there, never gone on a losing streak)
  2. Around Emerald II 32 LP, the rank inflation is so horrendous that I didn't even want to play. I constantly had a 'Fast Climbing' platinum II or I player picking a losing matchup. For example and reality, my ADC picks Swain into Caitlyn. (Swain had Counterpick)
  3. The Fast Climbing players are usually 9 wins, 5 losses, Platinum II or I, and yes, they stop playing after a couple of games. Why Riot?

Although it was relatively easy to get to Diamond IV, in <Emerald II 32 LP - Diamond IV 1LP> was particularly bad. With the occasional Platinum I players throwing a tantrum to the quality of skills certain players had, I sometimes wonder if it was coded into the system. During this time, I keep thinking back on what Riot Games said in their updated rank video, "... We want players to feel as if they are achieving their rank with satisfaction instead of just gaining the rank." (Similar saying, just not word for word).

I don't know if there will be a solution, nor a temporary band-aid that Riot will put on. But I know I am done with League.
