I'm currently on tray 13/44. My treatment had been going really well until this tray. I felt the typical pressure you feel on the first day or so of a new tray. But towards the end of this tray, my central incisor started throbbing and was also accompanied by some sinus pressure/pain. Tylenol helped a bit and I also had relief when I took my tray out for a little bit. I alerted my dentist and he had me come in to get it checked out. (Yes, a dentist. I know this sub will flame me for going with a dentist over an ortho, but I feel like I trusted my dentist's expertise when I started this journey.) His assessment was that this tray was too much movement for this tooth and we needed to adjust my plan and slow down the movement. So I got rescanned on Thursday and now I'm waiting for my new aligners to arrive.
It's been a few days since then and the throbbing has been up and down. Yesterday I didn't feel it at all, but this morning, it came back. My dentist didn't seem alarmed that there might be a bigger issue and that adjusting my plan would be the fix. But obviously I'm really anxious about this.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before?
I'm starting to wonder if I need to get a second opinion from an ortho or another dentist. I'm spiraling, and I'm not sure if my dentist isn't alarmed because there's nothing to be alarmed about or if he's not properly treating my issue.
