We can use points to book one night at a Marriott property, but need three total. I'd like to book one night through the third party and then 2 through Marriott. Can we do this and then call to link the reservations? Can we attach my husband's gold status to both?

My husband has a 15 hour layover in Vancouver coming up. He's flying from Australia in J (lowest) and is a 35 k elite member (this trip may take him to 50).

He's hoping they can put him on an earlier flight back home. The problem is he MUST stay in business class as this is a work trip.

Since he's flying business, can he ask to be put on an earlier flight when he arrives in Vancouver? Earlier? He would take a connecting flight home instead of direct if it's faster. Is this allowed? And if yes, what's the best way to try to make it happen?
