Hey everyone, I’m building a custom e-bike and looking for someone in the Orange County area who can build wheels.
This is more of a light moto-style setup, so I’m guessing it may be better suited for someone with dirt bike, motorcycle, or heavy-duty e-bike wheel-building experience rather than a typical bicycle shop.
I’d be supplying the hubs/rims, but would need help with spokes, lacing, truing, and making sure the setup is built properly.
Any recommendations for shops or individuals would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hey everyone, I’m working on a e-bike build and looking for someone in OC that can build and true hub motor wheels.
If anyone has experience with this or knows a good local shop/person, let me know. Thanks in advance!
Are S2 stock forks straight or tapered? TIA
I’m building a Super73 S with a 60V 20Ah battery and 100A BMS.
Supplier can do either a traditional parrot/shark style hard case or a triangle battery.
For anyone running upgraded batteries on an S / S2 / ZX, what would you recommend?
Would appreciate photos of your setup, mounting ideas, and any regrets around fitment, removal, waterproofing, or theft.
Planning a ZX build and want to sanity check before I commit.
Current plan:
- BAC855 controller
- 60V 20Ah battery (16S4P, 21700 cells)
- Likely 50S cells
- 60A BMS (80A not confirmed due to case limits)
Goals:
- Strong acceleration + higher top speed
- Keep it reliable on stock motor (500w)
- Single battery setup (no parallel/extender for now)
A few questions for people who’ve done similar:
What battery current are you running on BAC855 with a stock ZX hub?
Is 60A BMS a noticeable limitation, or is it enough?
Any issues with heat or motor reliability at this level?
Would you change anything if you did it again (battery spec, mounting, etc)?
Appreciate any input.
