My roommate and I are really good friends. We met freshman year and decided to become roommate’s sophomore year.
However there are some things she does that kind of irks me? I think the biggest one is she doesn’t say hi to me when I walk in the door. She’ll just look at me and not acknowledge me. We live with 4 other girls, yet she only does this with me. I think this really annoyed me the most when I came in with a mutual friend of ours. She saw me, ignored me (per usual) but when she saw our friend behind me she shrieked and said hi. That really rubbed me the wrong way and I found it quite hurtful. I asked her why she didn’t acknowledge me at all yet said hi to our friend and she said it’s because she already lives with me. I feel like i’m overreacting but nonetheless it still hurts.
Even today I said hi to her when she walked in, it was silent for a while, and then she said hi and asked if I had seen one of our other roommates which once again … irked me.
It really rubs the wrong way and I don’t know if she does this because we are such “good” friends. What should I do?
