Pelican gang // still worth it or y’all moved on?

Went out to grab a hard case for a 16” setup with an LPVO and somehow walked away with a stack of Pelicans. Not even gonna justify it.

Keeping one dialed for my rifle, but now I’ve got a pile sitting here. Foam’s still fresh on most of them, haven’t even cut it yet.

Part of me likes the bombproof feel, part of me is already remembering why guys switch to lighter stuff once you start loading mags, sling, light, etc.

Curious what you guys are running now, still rocking Pelican or did you ditch for something else?

Dialed-in portable Starlink Mini setup for off-grid trips (weatherproof + quick deploy)

Put together a compact Starlink Mini setup that I can just grab and deploy anywhere.

Everything’s sealed in a waterproof case with a dedicated power bank, so no loose parts or setup hassle. Open it, set it down, and you’re online in a couple minutes.

Been using it on remote trips where there’s zero signal and it’s been solid so far, even in rough weather.

Biggest thing for me was keeping it clean + reliable without overcomplicating it.

Went a little overboard on Pelican cases… keep or move some?

Picked up a bulk lot locally and didn’t realize how many I was dealing with until I stacked them all out 😅

Mix of 1620s, 1485 Airs, 1450s, and a couple 1640s. Most are used but solid, just need a wipe down.

I was planning a few different builds (camera gear, off-grid setup, tool storage), but this is probably way more than I’ll ever use.

Curious how you guys would approach this, keep a few and build them out, or move most of them?

Anyone running Starlink Mini from a teardrop? Power/storage question

Been dialing in a compact setup for a teardrop and curious how others are handling internet + power without overcomplicating things.

I’ve been using a Starlink Mini with an Anker power bank and keeping everything stored in a small Pelican case so it’s protected and doesn’t take up much space. It’s been solid for staying connected in remote spots without wiring into the trailer.

I’m not doing as many off-grid trips anymore, so I’m probably going to let the setup go, but figured I’d ask here first since this is exactly the kind of build it fits.

For anyone running something similar: • How are you powering your setup? • Are you mounting it or just deploying when needed?

If someone here is already looking for a simple, ready-to-go setup for a teardrop, feel free to reach out. Trying to keep it straightforward for someone who’ll actually use it.

Preps you thought were overkill… until they weren’t?

used to think some stuff in my setup was borderline paranoia. Extra water storage beyond a week, backup lighting in every room, multiple ways to cook food… felt like I was cosplaying doomsday.

Then we had a random 3-day power + water outage in my area.

No chaos, no panic, just flipped systems and kept moving. Neighbors were scrambling for bottled water and candles, while I was rotating stored water, running a small cook setup, and charging devices like it was normal life.

Biggest realization: the “overkill” preps are the ones that remove stress when things go sideways.

For me, the MVPs were: • Stored water (way more than I thought I’d need) • Headlamps > flashlights (hands-free matters more than you think) • Simple food that doesn’t need babysitting to cook

Curious what others here have that felt excessive at first… but ended up proving its worth when it actually counted?
