I was shocked when I learned that some adoptees in the U.S. don’t have citizenship bc the US government and adoption agencies didn’t make sure they got it. AND SOME ADOPTEES HAVE BEEN DEPORTED!!!! 😤

Younger adoptees are protected by a 2000 law, but older adoptees are left out. It makes no sense. My siblings have citizenship automatically bc they’re our parents’ bio kids — but adoptees don’t? As if we needed to deal with another abandonment or another rejection.

I’ve seen more about this on social media and in the news. Apparently there’s a bill that would fix this and would make sure all adoptees are covered. One of the organizations is called Adoptees For Justice and they have this sign on to support the bill, so I’m sharing it here in case ppl wanna learn more! 🔗 bit.ly/Support-PAAF

Did you know about this? Do you know adoptees without citizenship? This is so unfair!!!
