Got myself into a situation. My wife and are in the process of buying a house. We cannot close on the house until our amended 2024 tax gets accepted by the IRS. We run a small business and I was unaware that I had to attach K1 forms to our personal returns. We have not taken any profit out of the business at all. Without including the schedule E, we cannot close on the new house. The closing date has passed. I filed amended returns for the last two years. 2025 was e-filed and accepted. I had to mail the 2024 1040 X. All I need is for the IRS to accept it and then we can move forward with the purchase. The sellers are angry and they may pull out. Does anyone know how long amended returns are taking to get accepted right now or if there's any way to speed up this process? I have been unable to get a hold of anyone at the IRS. It seems like such a small thing to lose our house over.
