A random question, I know. But I was speaking with a close friend of mine who is theologically and socially liberal. A topic got brought up once where I was explaining to another person my thoughts on my faith. I was explaining that some things I can reconcile with and some I can’t. Creedal things like Jesus being born of a virgin, dying and rising again, that he will return, etc. Everything else like whether the rapture will happen or evolution occurred don’t matter as much to me because I know what I believe according to the Nicene Creed.

She was blown away by the fact I didn’t take Genesis as a literal explanation of how the universe was started or that Adam and Eve probably didn’t exist. She doesn’t even believe that Jesus literally rose from the dead or that he will come again, but was so utterly confused and blown away that I didn’t take Genesis as a literal story. It made me laugh how she can think Jesus maybe didn’t raise from the dead but is dead set on Genesis being 100% literal.

I don’t know what word I can use to describe it, but have you ever met someone who had such a weird, conflicting belief in regards to their faith?

I honestly hate it. At the independent I worked at the patients could check yes or no to a consult instead of a hard block. I know Walgreens probably does it to cover themselves if something were to happen and a patient said they were not offered a consult, but it’s such a waste of time. If your pharmacist has the runs or steps out to go buy a drink or is taking a verbal, the drive through and front get held up all bc the pharmacist has to scan his consult badge.

I’ve worked at Walgreens for 3 years now and it still irks me how much of a waste of time it is. I love my job honestly but I just feel like being a hater right now on these stupid consults. 1/50 patients actually have a question. And even then when they scan it it says “does patient want consult, yes or no”. So why even have the badge. The patient should be able to select yes or no on the pin pad, that way it still shows the patient was offered a consult.

If it’s something the pharmacist REALLY needs to speak to the patient about, they can cap it. It’s so redundant.
