Flights in July

Needing advice please... We are a small family booked economy fares to travel from Australia to UK 4 July via Dubai. The longer this situation goes on, the longer I think it will go on. We booked our flights in November because we needed a good deal, we can't afford to book short term flights. The purpose is to visit my husband's family in UK. We don't want to cancel because my husband needs to see his aging parents, they won't be around forever (and will unfortunately never travel here). I have been monitoring the situation and have seen that people in the current "flexibility window" have been able to request a refund and book with another carrier..that seems ideal for us too, I would not want to risk travel via Dubai with my 6 year old! based on how things have been unfolding I expect soon Emirates will extend current "flexibility" soon, probably to end of June, but that won't help us. We can't wait until June to rebook our flights. We won't be able to afford it. Feeling kind of stuck. Any advice would be really appreciated
