(Throwaway account). I’m a 2026 bride and ended up getting my dress from Lee Petra Grebenau (LPG). I absolutely loved the sample. I had tried on a ton of lace dresses across different stores and they all seemed a little more naked dress-y than I wanted, but this one at LPG (the Harmony dress) has thick bright white lace that I loved. They said that the sample was unlined, but it didn’t feel see through at all. I ordered it and now my dress has arrived, and the lace seems waaaaay more sheer and see through than the sample. I brought this up with them, and they keep insisting that the sample is the exact same lace but the weave has just become loosened over time because the sample is old??? Is that a thing? Regardless it seems like if the sample is so old that it’s no longer representative it needs to be updated. I’m feeling kind of exposed in my dress and really feel like you can almost see my nips through it it’s so sheer. It’s way too late to get another dress. It’s still a beautiful dress but the style feels completely different with the sheer lace and it’s just not what I would have picked. Plus it’s just frustrating to be gaslit. Then I told a friend about this and received the attached text alleging that a friend of a friend knows the manager who says they get this complaint all the time, which is really disappointing if true. Has anyone else had this experience with LPG? I’m trying to decide if I should ask for a discount…. It does seem a little ridiculous for a $10,000 dress. It sort of feels like they use a luxe sample and sub in a cheaper lace. Let me know what you all think
