AITAH for venting to my deaf coworker?
I have a coworker I work with at an elementary school. He is the morning custodian and I’m a Tk aide. He is deaf and is telling me learn to be more fluent in sign language. I learned a lot of it when I was 12 throughout the years, I’m 35 now; so it’s nice to be able to use it. My coworker is super nice and patient when I sign and helps a lot.
Yesterday, I found out one of my sons drs lied to us about my son being deaf in one ear for 2-3 years. So today I went to my coworker to tell him how I felt about the whole situation and he was super nice and helpful and just listened. I thanked him for just letting me vent and just being amazing cause he does a lot for the kids and the school.
When I got home I told my husband and he said it was rude of me and almost disrespectful to complain to a deaf person about my son not being deaf. But my coworker didn’t see upset at all and was really nice about it. And we mostly talked about the drs and how they don’t treat deaf people fair and how it “easy” to be deaf and get implants etc.
Was I wrong?
