Not medical advice, just sharing a general observation.

I’ve noticed this comes up quite a bit here, people having urinary leakage, urgency or pelvic discomfort but being told everything looks “normal” on scans or tests.

From a clinical perspective, bladder control isn’t just structural; it involves coordination between the pelvic floor, bladder and nervous system. When that coordination is off (either too tight or not activating properly), symptoms can show up even when imaging doesn’t explain much.

As a GP with training in acupuncture, one thing that stands out is how much the nervous system can contribute to these symptoms. In some clinical settings, there are approaches that target nerve pathways involved in bladder control (e.g. tibial nerve stimulation), which reflects this.

Some people also explore integrative approaches alongside their usual care. Responses can vary quite a bit between individuals, but it’s something that comes up in discussions around pelvic floor conditions.

There’s also some emerging research in this area if anyone is interested:

Curious if anyone here has found something that actually made a difference for them?
