Hi all,

I’m an Australian citizen and my company (fashion industry) has offered me a role in France. I’d be employed by the French office directly, on a French contract, and paid around €45,000 gross annually.

The company is supportive but has basically left me to research the visa/process side myself and come back with the best option.

I’m trying to understand:

what the most appropriate visa/work permit pathway would be

whether the process is mainly handled by the employer or by me

and generally what the smoothest/most realistic route is

From what I can tell, possibilities might include the employee assignment visa, standard salarié work visa, EU Blue Card, or potentially an intra-company transfer route, but I’m struggling to understand which is most suitable.

Has anyone done something similar moving from Australia to France with an internal company transfer? Any advice, timelines, or things to watch out for would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks!
