I wanted to put together a post outlining what has actually been shared publicly by credible sources (ie law enforcement and court filings) so far, for anyone seeing a lot of speculation or conspiracy theories. If I’ve misstated anything or missed something important, feel free to flag and I’ll update.

Most everything is speculation outside of this document presented by the prosecution:

This is basically a written argument to the court ahead of a preliminary hearing. The prosecution is laying out their version of events and why the case should proceed. At the last status hearing, the defense requested that the brief be sealed, but the judge denied that request, which is why it’s public. The defense also asked to keep other evidence sealed, and the judge allowed that, so most of the underlying materials haven’t been released yet.

The next step is the hearing on May 12 to check readiness (ie has evidence been shared with defense, is the defense ready). If the defense is ready, it moves to the preliminary hearing.

Preliminary hearing is the next major step (May 26). That’s where the judge decides if there’s enough evidence to move forward to trial. Some evidence may be presented publicly (witness testimony, exhibits). Some things can still be kept sealed or handled carefully (especially in a case with minors involved). It’s not a full evidence dump like a trial.
