I am not from Grande Prairie and only moved here for work a handful of months ago. It was a transfer from same company where I lived to the company here.They offered higher pay and covered moving costs. They did this because they needed employees to help start off the company here that knew what they were doing.
However, the company had done lay-offs and unfortunately I was part of that till they can bring people back...
I'm still waiting for EI as its only been two weeks.
I've got 2 children and myself.
I'm just wondering where I can get free food in the city?
I did reach out to a church that is close to me and they did give us some bread but that was about it.
Do you have a food bank here? If so whats it called?
Where im from we would have random pantrys set up in different communities. Do you guys have that here? If so, can you name a few communities i can check out? I tried looking on Google for the foodbank and there's a couple different things listed and im unsure which one is what im looking for.
I also cannot stress this enough that I'am NOT looking for handouts and I genuinely want to utilize that things that are here for this very reason.
I just need to know where things are and I will go.
