I dont know what to choose as a career
17yo M 11th grade from Romania
I dont know wether or not to choose forestry (inginerie silvica) or medicine (as oral & maxillofacial surgery)
I like both alot. I bushcrafted, stalked wild animals, learned navigation with compass, studied dendrology, forestry practices such as thinnings, geography, etc. But i also love oral & maxillofacial surgery. I like ORIF of fractures, oncosurgery of the head and neck, orthognathic corrections, etc.
Getting into forestry is easier and finishing it is, easier, ofc. Medicine would be the harder part, esp considering i need to do both dental and medical school in the same time
Ill be honest, yes i would also like the recognition of being seen as a surgeon, my ultimate goal would to get a fellowship in craniofacial deformities correction (such as goldenhar syndrome repair, hypertelorism, tessier clefts etc). Its really nice to think about such a big future ill admit
But on other hand, although i like forestry, i feel like after some years of having a career in it...ill remain with a huge regret in my chest as something was lost
