Shifting gears away from purchasing a DTLA loft and now more seriously considering leasing for a year on a higher floor (20 and up). Would love to hear people's experience living in Metropolis Tower I? Are there notable differences from Thea or Metropolis II? How's the sound insulation between floors and side-to-side between units in Metropolis I.

Is it safe to walk up 8th during the daytime? I realize Skid Row is close, but it seems like it's relatively easy to avoid using an abundance of caution and vigilance. Is the noise from 3am to 5am deliveries at the LA Flower Market (between Maple and Wall Street) enough to wake a medium sleeper from one of the higher floors at 315 E. 8th? The natural light for my portrait photography work is amazing, and the price is quite reasonable given the overall ice-cold state of the real estate market in DTLA in 2026.
