Husband has a varicocele.

I’m really looking for some insight… backstory, my husband (25) and I (25) have been TTC for 8 cycles/10 months, with not a hint of a positive test. At first I allowed myself to have the “it’s just taking time” mindset, as I ovulate, have decently regular cycles and periods, etc., and my husband is healthy. I am in the process of setting up a fertility work up for myself to rule anything out.

But anyways; my husband went to the doctor today as he suspected he may have a varicocele, and, it was confirmed. He has a left one…the doc ordered an ultrasound to be safe and to check for another on the right, but said he ultimately didn’t think he has one on the right…he also ordered a SA which obviously hasn’t been done yet but is just stressing me out, as I worry my worst fears will be confirmed and his numbers will be bad.

So I guess my question here is…anyone have experience with varicoceles and natural conception? Is there any chance his sperm comes back ok? Is surgery most likely going to be needed to repair if his sperm is bad? Or even if his sperm is fine? I’m preparing myself for a long road ahead as it’s really leaning that way…natural conception is our only route, we won’t go any other way, that’s too much for me to handle.

Any comments, advice or anything is deeply appreciated

For context, I am 25 and in the TWW of my 8th cycle TTC. I got an Inito to help me track my cycles better and confirm ovulation, as I ovulate later in my cycles and have a longer follicular phase (cycles are usually 32-35 days). Inito confirmed ovulation but I just feel something may be wrong since everyone around me seems to have no issues conceiving. I don’t have anyone to talk to about this and no one around me can relate to the struggles of TTC since it happened to them immediately. My question is, does anything look off? If I don’t get a positive this cycle I’m calling to get a fertility work up as I’m just too anxious and impatient. My dreams of being a young mom seem to be slipping away… thanks for any insight in advance.

Just for some context: This is my first month using Inito. I got it as we have been TTC for 7 cycles with no luck and I suspect I have been missing my fertile window, so I just wanted help to better pinpoint it than just OPKs and to also give myself some peace of mind that my hormones look alright. My cycles tend to be a bit on the longer side, anywhere from about 30-35 days, most typically 33-35 days. I’m 7 DPO and my progesterone is the highest it’s been, but accompanied by a weird little bump in LH? Just looking for any insight you all might have or even pointers. Thanks guys.
