When do they get less clumsy?

My boy will be 2 in August few months and has always been so clumsy. He constantly trips, hasn’t gotten any better at breaking falls (including when he lays down from a seated position on the floor; he just full sends backwards), and just seems really uncoordinated in general.

He doesn’t have any vision or hearing problems that would affect his balance (we’ve had both checked over the past year). And is healthy, super chatty, and smart! I’ve thought that his lack of coordination was normal up until recently when I’ve seen many of his peers (all within a few months of his age) doing a lot more physically challenging things for toddlers. Things like riding a 3-wheeled scooter, climbing, summersaults, jumping with both feet leaving the floor, etc.

Is this normal? Is he really just lagging a tiny bit in the physical capabilities department?

I’m wanting to make a quilt for family member and was planning on having the design basically be alternating between a design similar to the picture and a different, simpler design (yet to be determined). I wanted to do the appliqué style instead of trying to quilt a bunch of geometric shapes together. What do you think the best way of going about it would be?

I’ve quilted smaller projects before but this would be my first blanket quilt. I was thinking that maybe hand sewing the appliqué pieces to the main quilt background would be best? I don’t really want the stitches to show on the back of the quilt.

Any tips/tricks would be very much appreciated!
