Best motherboard for RTX 9070 XT and AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D AM5 — looking for best value and future-proofing for gaming

Hi everyone,

I'm from italy and im planning a build with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (AM5 socket) and an RTX 9070 XT GPU. I'll be using the PC mainly for gaming. I'm looking for recommendations on the best motherboard that offers the best balance between price and performance, but also has good features and upgrade potential for the future.

Specifically, I want:

  • Compatibility with AM5 and Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • Support for RTX 9070 XT
  • Good VRM and cooling for stable performance
  • Future-proof features like PCIe 5.0, DDR5 support, and multiple M.2 slots
  • Solid build quality but with a reasonable price

I want to avoid overspending on features I won't use but also want to make sure the board won't limit future upgrades.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Seeking Feedback on My First Custom PC Build for Gaming and Casual Use

Hi everyone,

Im from Italy and I’ve always used a questionable pre-assembled PC, but now that I’ve saved some money, I want to build one from scratch. Here’s my current idea for a solid gaming and casual use PC:

  • Case: Lian Li Vector V100
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (8 cores)
  • Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi ATX AM5
  • Power Supply: Corsair RM850e (2025), fully modular, ATX
  • CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 (liquid cooling)
  • Storage: I already have a 500GB drive from my old PC, and I’m considering adding 1TB (not sure which one to pick yet)
  • GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB
  • RAM: I know it’s a tough time to buy DDR5 RAM, but I’m planning to get 2x16GB sticks. I’m open to any advice here.

Since I’m not an expert, I’d really appreciate your help to know if there are better options at a similar price (within about €50 more) or if any of my choices are questionable and should be changed. Also, I’m interested in knowing if buying some components used would be a good idea to save some money without sacrificing much performance. Regarding RAM or memory, if the advice you give me is good, I’m willing to spend a significant amount of money to get the right components.

Thanks in advance for your advice!
